Cet article analyse Jn 14, 27 à partir des racines hébraïques du concept de šālôm dans le quatrième Évangile. À travers une étude philologique et sémantique de la racine √šlm dans les langues sémitiques et dans la Bible hébraïque, l’auteur montre que la paix johannique dépasse l’idée d’absence de conflit pour exprimer la complétude, l’intégrité et la plénitude de vie en Jésus. Dans la théologie johannique, la paix devient une réalité sapientielle, christologique et eschatologique, liée à la présence du Christ et du Paraclet dans la vie des croyants.
